Kurt was losing his mind, he knew it. Tapping his foot and tilting his head to the side as he kept thinking what a bad idea this was, but how inressistible at the same time. He was not only losing his mind because of this stupid (amazing) idea they had, he was losing his mind because right after a break up, he was starting to have this huge crush on Sam. He couldn’t resist that grin, his dorkiness… even his impressions made him giggle like an idiot. Sam was the most adorable human being and he liked Kurt. The best of this? He knew Sam liked him back, he wouldn’t be driving this late if he didn’t.
Kurt knew no one was going to hear them. His dad and Carole slept on a room on the first floor and Finn slept by the end of the hall. Besides, his dad and Finn sleep like monsters.
He opened his door slowly, looking to see if Finn’s door was open. He smiled when he heard Finn snoring, but his heart stopped when he heard a few knocks. It couldn’t be Sam knocking on the door, he wouldn’t be that stupid. Instead of calling Sam, he turned and faced his window, his heart stopping and his eyes widening. He closed his door and ran to open his window. “Samuel Thomas Evans, are you losing your mind?” He mumbled and let Sam in. Being mad at the boy but at the same time thinking this was the most romantic thing someone has ever done to him.
On the moment he saw Sam knocking on his window, he knew his crush was just going to get bigger.
For a moment Sam worried that maybe Kurt wouldn’t hear him. Or what if Kurt had waited downstairs for him to be closer to the front door? He suddenly wondered that he may be left here, clinging onto a trellis, several feet high, in the pouring rain. And the longer he remained in the position, the more he realized that keeping his grip wasn’t going to be as easy as he’d thought. And since when had heights freaked him out so much. Luckily for him he had been worried for no reason, as Kurt was suddenly at his window, unhooking the latch and allowing Sam entry. Cautiously moving his body closer to the window, as he climbed his way in, thankful for the warmth that welcomed him. Major improvement from the cold and rain he had just escaped. Regaining his composure, he straightened himself up, and found himself looking straight into the eyes of Kurt Hummel. Those beautiful blue eyes locked with his gaze, as his teeth sunk into his lower lip. Yeah, he had definitely made the right choice coming here. How he thought he could have lasted another day without talking to Kurt was beyond him.
“I couldn’t help it.” He spoke, as he stepped past Kurt looking around the boy’s bedroom, loving exactly how it was so… Kurt. “I just.. I needed to see you.” A grin spreading across his face, as he stopped his aimless wandering, and turned on the balls of his feet to once again face his… whatever the hell Kurt was to him. Probably not boyfriend. Not that he had any problems with that, but it was probably a little too early to call the boy his boyfriend, right? He knew this, and he slightly hated this. But he didn’t want to freak the boy out by seeming too eager. Then again, he had just driven to the boy’s house at this ridiculous hour, scaled the outside of his house, and climbed in through the window. In the pouring rain, no less. Clearly he was past eager. Like, way past eager. But he didn’t need to make things any worse. So for now he’d have to settle calling Kurt his friend. His friend who he really wanted to do things with. The kind of things that friends don’t normally do. “Besides…” Stepping closer to the boy, closing the distance between them. “I just really wanted to try something.”
Probably not his smartest of ideas, driving over to Kurt’s house at this time. Especially in the rain. But Sam had been going crazy. Stuck in his room, knowing that it would have been at least twelve hours since he saw Kurt again. And knowing that would make those hours seem like years. So who cared if it was almost midnight, on a school night? Sam certainly didn’t. Not as long as he got to see Kurt. His parents probably wouldn’t see it that way. But that would only matter if they found out. And as long as he got back home before his dad woke up for work, Sam was completely safe. Still, all it would take was for one of his parents to wake up, look out the window, and notice Sam’s truck was no longer in the driveway. Definitely a risky move on his part. So yeah, definitely not Sam’s smartest of ideas. But certainly one of his best. After all, the result was him pulling up outside the Hummel-Hudson house. Which meant Finn would also be there. But he’d be sleeping, right? He let his teeth toy with his lower lip, as he suddenly realized exactly how risky this was. Any other time he could just use the excuse that he was hanging out with a friend. But being in Kurt’s bedroom at midnight, was going to be rather difficult to explain. Not only to Finn, but to Kurt’s dad.
He almost considered going home. Sending an apologetic text to Kurt, and forcing himself to struggle through those remaining hours. But he couldn’t just leave. Not when he was now so close to the other boy. He sat for several moments, listening to the rain attack his truck, as he considered his next move. But really, there wasn’t much of a decision to make. He’d known the moment he’d started talking to Kurt tonight that he’d needed to see him. So now was the point where he would text Kurt, and have him sneak downstairs to let Sam in. Unless… Sam was clearly just full of not-smart ideas tonight. A sly smirk forming on his lips, as he got out of his truck, and ran towards the house through the rain. But instead of going with his initial plan, he circled the house, moving round to the backyard, as his gaze moved to the window that he knew to be Kurt’s. So close to the trellace. Just begging for someone to do what Sam was about to do. As he began to scale the Hummel-Hudson house, he had to wonder why these things were designed to be so ladder-like. As though this was the original intention. Not that he was complaining, of course. Without them, he would not be currently level with Kurt Hummel’s window, reaching out his fingers to lightly tap on the glass, waiting for the boy to respond. Eat your heart out, James Van Der Beek.
Samuel, do you seriously want to come over? It’s raining outside!
I’m just kidding. Come over and good luck with the rain.
I’m on my way.

I really wanna see you, too. But unfortunately we will have to wait until tomorrow.
Or I could just come over right now.

Well, thank you! I can say the same, Sam.
I really wanna see you.

Me too! And I understand you, nobody will know about us until you’re ready for it, I swear.
Thanks, Kurt. You’re kind of amazing, you know that?
